Making suggestions and giving advice
2Read Ruth's letter and tick the problems below.

Dear Katy

My friend, Alisha, always gets good marks, but I think she's having some problems now. This year, our school work is more difficult than last year. My friend is worried about her exams and she doesn't think she can get good marks. This is nonsense! She's really clever! But now she is copying other people's work from the internet, because she thinks it's better than her work. This is wrong. Our teachers are always telling us that we have to do our own work. We shouldn't copy.

I don't want Alisha to get into trouble. I also want her to understand that she can get good marks without copying.

What can I do?

Best wishes

Ruth

Dear Ruth

This is a difficult situation. Of course you don't want Alisha to get into trouble and you also don't want her to feel so worried

about her exams. 1

to her about your schoolwork this year? You 2

tell her you think it's very difficult and ask her if she has the same problem.

other people's work. It's wrong. This is difficult, but you 4

this to her. Everybody has to do their own work when they do homework or exams. 5

you can suggest she talks to a teacher.

A kind teacher could help Alisha.

Best wishes

Katy
