Exercise 1: Speculating

 

Look at the picture and answer the questions. Use the verbs ‘seem’, ‘look (like/as if)’ and modal verbs to speculate about what you see.  Record your answers. Speak for no longer than one minute.   Describe the appearance of the two people in the photo. What do you think is their relationship? Why? What do you think they are arguing about? How do you think they are feeling? (Refer to their expressions and body language to support your ideas.) What adjectives do you think they might use to describe each other?
