Exercise 1: An informal email

 

Write an informal email.   Task: Write an informal email to your friend. Your brother has just started a new band and you are sending a photo with all the news.   Ideas: Make notes about the following ideas. who the members of the band are / what instruments they play. what they look like and what are they wearing. what they are like: their personalities and what they like to do when the band get together. the style of music. Is the music good or bad?   Plan: Follow the plan. Paragraph 1: Introduction. Explain that the band has just got together. Paragraph 2: Describe the photo and say who the people are in the photo. Describe their clothes, personalities and what they do. Paragraph 3: Talk about the music. Ask your friend if they are in a band and what music they like. Paragraph 4: Ask your friend to email you again and sign off.   Write: Write your email. Use the paragraph plan to help you.   Check: Check the following points. Have you used the correct email format and register? Have you used phrases to identify people in the photo? Have you included all the information asked for in the task? Have you checked spelling, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation?    Write your task in another program (e.g. Word).  Save the file to your computer.  Upload your file.  If you want to add a note to your teacher, write it in the Comments box.  Select Submit to Dropbox to send your work to your teacher.
