Exercise 1: An opinion essay

 

Write an opinion essay.   Tasks: Write an essay arguing that we should take more individual responsibility to prevent global warming.    Ideas: Think about the following suggestions to protect the environment. alternatives to using cars consuming less in general supporting environmental charities participating in campaigns to raise awareness   Plan: Decide which ideas you are going to use and match them to these paragraphs. Make notes. Paragraph 1: Write an introduction and state your opinion Paragraph 2,3 and 4: Write an argument for your opinion in each paragraph, giving support and examples. Include an opposing viewpoint sometimes. Paragraph 5: Conclude by restating your opinion and summarizing the reasons for it.   Write: Write your essay.   Check: Check the following points. Do your paragraphs contain separate points? Have you used phrases for introducing arguments and giving opinions? Have you check grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation?

1.  Write your task in another program (e.g. Word).
2.  Save the file to your computer.
3.  Upload your file.
