Hi! My name's Alisha and I live in Sydney. It isn't the 1

  • capital
  •  of Australia (that's Canberra), but Sydney is a very big 2 . Sydney's

    3

has got lots of shops, restaurants and museums. And the best thing about it? It's next to the sea! There are also two parks – Hyde Park and the Royal Botanic Gardens. There's also the famous Sydney Opera House!

I live outside the centre in a 4  called Manly, but it is part of Sydney. I'm very lucky because Manly has got an amazing beach! I love swimming and surfing.

Thirty kilometres south of Sydney is the Royal National Park and fifty kilometres north are the Blue Mountains. These are both big areas. They're great for walking in. The

    5

in these places is amazing. My grandparents live near the Royal National Park in

    6

called Helensburgh. I travel there by train from Sydney. It's got a library and some shops. I often visit the Park with my grandparents. We enjoy looking at Australian animals. What's my favourite? The koala!
