Last year the council decided to build 200 new houses on the edge of our village. You can imagine what we thought about that! First of all everyone in the village  , which we took to the council offices to  . A lot of people also   on the council website. None of that made any difference. A small group of villagers then decided to work together to try and stop the building going ahead. Almost everyone who lives here   and quite a few people   to pay for posters to be put up around the village. Still the council would not change their mind. Eventually we decided to   in the town. We marched through the town to the council offices. Some people  , which said 'Save Our Village'. Other people   like 'No building in our town!'. Eventually the council realised how strongly we felt. They didn't change the decision completely – but we're only getting 50 new houses now, instead of 200.
