Exercise 1: A letter of advice

 

Write a letter of advice.   Task: Write a letter of advice for this problem.   I can’t find my new e-reader! It was a really expensive present from my grandmother. It isn’t in my bag, in my bedroom or in the kitchen. I don’t want to talk to my parents about it or my grandmother. My dad thinks I always lose things. What can I do? Nick    Ideas: Make notes about these ideas. Summarise the problem to show you understand. Brainstorm ideas for advice. Develop your best ideas in full sentences.   Plan: Start your letter with Dear Nick Paragraph 1: Show that you understand the problem. Paragraph 2: Write your most important suggestion first. Paragraphs 3 & 4: Add one or two more suggestions. Be sympathetic. Finish your letter with Best wishes and your name.   Write: Write your letter.   Check: Check your spelling, grammar and punctuation.

1.  Write your task in another program (e.g. Word).
2.  Save the file to your computer.
3.  Upload your file.
4.  If you want to add a note to your teacher, write it in the Comments box.
5.  Select Submit to Dropbox to send your work to your teacher.
