2D GRAMMAR: can and adverbs

Grammar Reference

can

 

Affirmative
I/You/We/They/He/She/It can dance.


Negative
I/You/We/They/He/She/It can’t dance.

 

The full form of can’t is cannot.

 

Interrogative
Can I/you/we/they/he/she/it dance?


Short answers
Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.
Yes, she can. / No, she can’t.
Yes, we can. / No, we can’t.

 

We use the short form can’t in short answers.
