Affirmative

He/She/It works.

 

Spelling rules for third person singular (he/she/it)

Most verbs: add -s

-s

Grammar Reference

Present simple: negative

 

Negative 
I/You/We/They don’t play.He/She/It doesn’t play.
Full forms
I don’t play. = I do not play.
He doesn’t play. = He does not play.

We form the negative with don’t or doesn’t + base form of the verb. (The base form of the verb is the infinitive without to, e.g. go, have, work).
