Exercise 1: Write about an interesting city

 

Write a travel blog about an interesting city.   Task: Think about an interesting city you visited in the past. Write a travel blog entry about the city and your visit.    Ideas: Decide which city you are going to write about. Choose four of the following things to write about: How and when you got there. Where it is and its history. The name of the city and where it comes from. What you did and what you saw there. What the weather was like. What the people were like.   Plan: Decide which ideas you are going to use and match them to these paragraphs. Paragraph 1: Introduction. Say where you went and how you got there. Paragraph 2: Give some background information about the city and its people. Paragraph 3: Say what you did and what you saw. Paragraph 4: Sum up how you felt about the city, whether you like it or not and why.   Write: Write a description of your visit. Use the paragraph plan to help you.   Check: Check the following points. Have you included the information asked for in the task? Are your ideas divided into paragraphs? Have you used a variety of adjectives? Have you checked spelling, punctuation and grammar?
