We (arrive) in the town at six o'clock in the morning. Everywhere (be) shut except for one small café near the bus stop. The owner, an old man in dark shorts and a clean white T-shirt, (speak) excellent English. He (not / have) any coffee so he (bring) us some tea instead. 'Where (you / learn) your English?' I (ask) him. 'I listen to the radio,' he (say). 'The BBC. All day. Everyday.'
