Exercise 1: A description of a festival

 

Write an email about a festival or celebration.   Task: Choose one of these festivals and write a description of it. Christmas New Year's Day An important Saint’s Day in your country An important national holiday   Ideas: Answer the following questions. Why do you celebrate this festival? What do you do on this day? Do you wear any special clothes? Do you eat any special food? Do you enjoy this day? Why / Why not?   Plan: Organize your email into paragraphs. Begin with Hello, Hi or Dear and your friend’s name. Introduce the festival. Write a short description of it. End your email with Take care, Lots of love or Best wishes and your name.   Write: Write your email.   Check: Check your spelling, grammar and punctuation.

1.  Write your task in another program (e.g. Word).
2.  Save the file to your computer.
3.  Upload your file.
4.  If you want to add a note to your teacher, write it in the Comments box.
5.  Select Submit to Dropbox to send your work to your teacher.
